July 27, 2012 - 9 weeks

Today we are 9 weeks!!!

New this week: She's starting to look more and more human. Her essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do her tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. (woo hoo!) Your baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Her eyes are fully formed, but her eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. She has tiny earlobes, and her mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that your baby's basic physiology is in place, she's poised for rapid weight gain.

All is great with you!  They say you have a very strong heart beat!  When I saw you on the screen, I started to tear up...such an amazing feeling!  I love you so very much!!!

July 20, 2012 - 8 weeks

Today we are 8 weeks!!!

New this week: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby's hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his "tail" is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways.

The second best news since finding out about you...Baby Burdick is on the way too!!!!  You guys are 3 weeks apart...soooo fun for us mommies!  I can't wait to experience this with her all the way through!

We went to have Cantina Laredo and mommy is not feeling so hot.  Tonight was the first night of getting sick...yuck!  It wasn't too bad.  I think riding in the car is what gets me...gotta be the driver...I'm sure dad will LOVE this!  NOT!  Oh well, gotta do, what I gotta do :) 

1.5 weeks til we go to the doctor...I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!

Your aunt Carey is in town and we told her the exciting news about you!  Yay!  We also broke the news to Margie and Phil, everyone is very excited and wants to already submit names...oh lord!

July 13, 2012 - 7 Weeks

Today, we are 7 WEEKS!!! 

Big news: Hands and feet are emerging from developing arms and legs.  You have doubled in size since last week!

Tonight we told GrandMa & GrandPa at dinner with Jilly and uncle Eric.  Dad was telling GrandMa that we were looking at homes this coming weekend because come March 1st, our home will be too small.  She quickly picked up on it and said "what's happening March 1st?"  When we told her, she started to cry...it was sooo sweet!  And GrandPa, was soooo excited to!  You will make grand-child number 16!!!
